Govt. run Indian Utilities widely struggle with high losses and continuing cash deficit, negatively impacting country's HDI, economic growth, and further aggravating urban-rural conflict. Compared to Telecom, our Water and Power Distribution utilities are very early into the privatization game, with handful of PPP realizations, and mixed results in last few years. This Utility PPP sector is fast emerging with positive traction from all stakeholders, and it is estimated that we have barely touched even 1% of the potential market size.
At pManifold, we have observed various challenges and failures in first 1-2 years operationalisation of these new PPP models (Power Distribution Franchisee and Water 24×7 utility). While most conferences focuses upon policy aspects, we want to take closer operational look for improved service delivery, & viability of these PPPs – 'Challenges and Best Practices in Operational Roll-out of Utility PPPs'. And hence at IUKAN (Indian Utility Knowledge and Networking), we intend to engage all relevant Utility stakeholders – Discoms, private Operators, Policy makers, Employees, Customers, Vendors & Investors.
Following Panels are planned for this 12 Feb 2013 IUKAN conference (See Aganda for details):
